12th "Let's talk about symbiosis" workshop

Already for the 12th time, the workshop “Let’s talk about symbiosis” brought together master students, PhD candidates, postdocs and PI’s from different groups of the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna to discuss current findings in symbiosis research. Multiple systems were covered, ranging from bipartite partnerships, such as the symbiosis between stilbonematid nematodes and their ectosymbionts, to more complex systems like the gut-immune-brain axis in premature infants. This was topped off by the lecture of our special guest Dr. Maggie Georgieva from the Natural History Museum, London, on the microbiomes of deep-sea sponges. After many interesting talks and discussions, the day was completed with a quiz and some drinks. Thanks to all speakers and participants for your inspiring contributions!
