Training Program
The PhD program Microbial Symbioses offers a unique and comprehensive education in the field of microbe-host interactions. Students benefit from the interdisciplinary and integrative approach offered by our faculty and the exceptional infrastructure available in the participating departments. Our faculty members are committed to providing a stimulating environment for the PhD students and promote their independent and critical thinking, their creativity and self-engagement, but also their communication skills and team working abilities.

Funding
PhD research projects are funded for a period of up to four years, according to the Austrian Science Fund standard salary for PhD students (€ 2,205.60 gross salary per month in 2020).
